Király Kalács is a small shop but punches big. Great, friendly staff make fresh Chimney cakes on the spot, and they are delicious. If you don’t want to wait, you can pick up an already-made one, but be sure to wait for the fresh one.

Pichler serves very tasty chimney cakes and gelato. Usually, you have to wait in line for a bit because cakes are freshly made. But it’s definitely worth it. The staff are very friendly and work hard to make you the best Chimney cake possible. They have another location on nearby Vaci street.

Egy csipet torta ( A pinch of cake), located close to the Hungarian Parliament, serves delicious handmade little cakes, each one with a big smile from the staff. Very modern. contemporary approach in every aspect. They also make custom cakes for special occasions, be sure to order well in advance.

Nándori Cukrászda

A very traditional Hungarian cake shop, Nándori Cukrászda has all the local classics: Dobos torta, Esterhazy torta, Somlói galuska, Krémes … All the cakes are delicious. It’s a busy shop, so sometimes you have to wait a bit. No added sugar options are also available.

Házi rétesbolt

Rétes is a traditional Hungarian pastry, both sweet and savory (usually translated as strudel). If you are looking for something authentic and delicious, Házi rétesbolt is the place. The shop is the heart of the neighborhood, everybody seems to know everybody. There is a second location on the Buda side.

Located on the lovely square of the Andrassy Boulevard, Macaron Heaven manufaktúra is a great place to stop by for some sweet refreshment. Their specialty is macarons; there are many options and they are all delicious. So is coffee and lemonade. They have another location on the Buda side.
