Gordon Ramsay to Debut in Budapest with Landmark Restaurant
In a significant development for Central Europe’s fine dining landscape, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global has announced its first venture into Hungary through a strategic partnership with the Dorothea Hotel in Budapest. The collaboration will introduce the acclaimed Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill concept to the region, with doors set to open in summer 2026.
The prestigious restaurant group, helmed by the world-famous multi-Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay, brings considerable culinary firepower to the Hungarian capital. With an impressive global portfolio encompassing more than 60 venues across four continents—from London to Dubai, Singapore to Chicago—and a collection of eight Michelin stars, this move represents a significant culinary coup for Budapest.
The flagship Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence, having maintained its three Michelin stars for over two decades—a remarkable achievement in the competitive culinary world.
The Budapest establishment will not simply replicate existing Bar & Grill venues but will create a bespoke culinary experience that honors local traditions. The menu promises to interweave premium Hungarian ingredients with Ramsay’s signature international techniques, featuring his renowned American and British classics alongside sophisticated interpretations of traditional Hungarian dishes.
Housed within the elegant Dorothea Hotel, Budapest, Autograph Collection, the restaurant aims to appeal to both international travelers and local gastronomes seeking world-class dining experiences.

Smarter restaurant tech
Restaurants are expected to lean heavily into AI-powered tools for inventory, demand forecasting, menu engineering, and dynamic pricing to control costs and reduce waste. Guest-facing tech like QR menus, digital ordering, and automated payment will keep expanding, especially when it clearly speeds service without losing hospitality.

Review of the week: Gundel
We were really happy to include Gundel as “The cherry on the cake” for our trip to Budapest and celebrating a birthday. It was an unforgettable dinner. Classy and elegant restaurant, delicious and well presented food, pleasant music, excellent service.

Popeyes, the New Orleans chicken giant, made its Hungarian debut with a grand opening at Budapest’s Westend shopping center on October 16. Hundreds of eager customers lined up early, awaiting the iconic Cajun-seasoned Chicken Sandwich that arrived via helicopter in dramatic fashion, accompanied by a rooftop jazz band. The sandwich, which created a frenzy in the U.S. in 2019, features chicken marinated for 12+ hours in signature spices before being hand-breaded and fried. Founded in 1972, Popeyes has built its global reputation on New Orleans culinary traditions, now operating over 4,300 restaurants across 35 countries.
