Lángosos Hunyadi Square 

Inside a typical indoor market hall, Lángosos is a place to go to try Hungarian favorite street food in Budapest: lángos. Delicious, authentic, cheap, with the friendliest service you could imagine – what more can you ask for?

Krumplis Lángos

Is it touristy? Yes. Is it tasty? Absolutely! Krumplis Lángos is quick, friendly, and serves delicious food. Nice outdoor seating for people-watching.

Lángos Land

Part of an outdoor market in the back of the Mammut shopping mall on the Buda side, Lángos Land offers a real local, authentic experience with great food and service. In the 2025 edition, the Hungarian Street Kitchen Guide chose it as the number one lángos place in Budapest.

Basilico Pizzéria

When you think about street food, a delicious slice of pizza often comes to mind. Basilico Pizzéria is a hidden gem in Budapest’s Palace District, offering exactly that. Unpretentious, tasty pizzas,  friendly service, and unbeatable prices. A small place, but in the summer, when they put tables outside, very cozy.

Pizza Manufaktúra

Pizza Manufaktúra is another great pizza joint. It has a very modern, urban, and friendly vibe. Most customers are students from nearby Corvinus University, so it’s priced accordingly. Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but it’s well worth it.

3AT Burger

3AT Burger serves American-style smash burgers. NFL-inspired, you can watch games here. Very friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Burgers are full of flavor, fries and onion rings are good as well. Very affordable pricing.

Tosti Budapest

Dutch sandwich shop Tosti offers yummy toasted sandwiches, ideal for a quick bite. Most popular for breakfast, probably because coffee is as good, if not better. And the staff is one of the friendliest in Budapest.

EGGDROP PROJECT 

Based on a popular Korean street food, EGGDROP PROJECT serves delicious, fluffy toasted sandwiches, perfect for brunch. Together with fresh ingredients, cozy vibe, and friendly service, it makes the whole experience very pleasant. Definitely something different and worth trying.

Nokedlish Dob

Nokedli is a kind of egg pasta, usually served as a side dish with meat and sauce. It is the food that you find at home, prepared by grandma. Even locals are surprised to find it at Nokedlish. Authentic flavors, generous portions, very friendly, accommodating staff – all of this for an excellent price. Check out their other location.

Scusi Focacceria

Scusi Focacceria is very conveniently located on your way to Liberty Square and the Parliament (must-see sights). Their focaccias are heavenly, great sandwiches and coffee. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is another location in the Palace District.

When you go to check out Szimpla Kert (the coolest ruin bar in Budapest), drop by Bors Gastro Bar. Fantastic soups, tasty baguetts, with a friendly service and great vibe. Street food in Budapest doesn’t get any better.

If you are looking for something different, Chinese street food from Hi Bing will do the trick. Food is freshly made, authentic, and full of flavour. The service is very friendly – great value for money.

No list of street food places will be complete without kebabs (or shwarma, gyros – call it what you wish, the difference is mostly in sauces). There are many in Budapest. Hero Kebab serves very good ones, fresh, tasty, generous portions. The staff are very friendly.
