Lángosos Hunyadi Square

Inside a typical indoor market hall, Lángosos is a place to go to try Hungarian favorite street food in Budapest: lángos. Delicious, authentic, cheap, with the friendliest service you could imagine – what more can you ask for?

“Extremely fast and nice service, amazing food and nice tables and chairs to eat. A bit of frying smell but…it is a lángos place, it is expected :)”  (Google)

SUPER! Friendly, tasty, authentic, and cheap! A neat little shop inside a market hall — this is as real as it gets. No frills, just darn good lángos served by a lovely older gentleman. Lots of locals eating communally at tables.(Google)

Krumplis Lángos

Is it touristy? Yes. Is it tasty? Absolutely! Krumplis Lángos is quick, friendly, and serves delicious food. Nice outdoor seating for people-watching.

“Had dinner here on our first night. We were tired and needed something quick and filling before an early night. This hit the spot. Had the bacon cheese and the sausage cheese onion options which were tasty. ”  (Tripadvisor)

Even though this is in the heart of the touristy part of Budapest and the prices for a langos are about double what you’ll pay outside the city center, the food was extremely good and my kids voted this the best langos we tried during our stay in Budapest.(Google)

Lángos Land

Part of an outdoor market in the back of the Mammut shopping mall on the Buda side, Lángos Land offers a real local, authentic experience with great food and service. In the 2025 edition, the Hungarian Street Kitchen Guide chose it as the number one lángos place in Budapest.

“Worth the walk away from the river to have what is advertised as the best Langos in Budapest. It’s set upstairs in a market. Outdoor seating full of locals.”  (Tripadvisor)

Literally the best lángos in Budapest. Huge amount of topping – we had the one with cheese and it was great. Definitely recommend – give it a try!(Google)

Basilico Pizzéria

When you think about street food, a delicious slice of pizza often comes to mind. Basilico Pizzéria is a hidden gem in Budapest’s Palace District, offering exactly that. Unpretentious, tasty pizzas,  friendly service, and unbeatable prices. A small place, but in the summer, when they put tables outside, very cozy.

Amazing pizzas, kind and helpful service. The prices are extremely low compared to other pizzerias in Budapest, especially if you take into account the amazing quality.” (Tripadvisor)

Pizza Manufaktúra

Pizza Manufaktúra is another great pizza joint. It has a very modern, urban, and friendly vibe. Most customers are students from nearby Corvinus University, so it’s priced accordingly. Sometimes you have to wait a bit, but it’s well worth it.

“Some of the best pizza I ever had. Super casual, super laid back. Can be hot inside and you may need to wait for your order but it’s worth it in my book.” (Tripadvisor)

“A truly amazing pizza place in the heart of Budapest. If you want a tasty pizza that isn’t overpriced and doesn’t taste like tomato sauce slapped on a cardboard definitely come here.” (Google)

    Ashis’ Israeli Street Food

Ashis’ serves fresh and tasty kosher street food in a very friendly and laid-back setting. Atmosphere stands out.

“Amazing kosher Israeli food; felt like we were in Machane Yehuda market in Jerusalem! Would highly suggest a visit when in Budapest. Simply delicious.” (Google)

I just went to this Kosher Israeli fast food place in Budapest and it was fantastic! The food was super delicious. I had the schnitzel and it was just right – crispy on the outside and tender inside. The pargit was flavorful, and the pulled beef asado was so good, it practically melted in my mouth. I love that everything is kosher. It’s great to have such tasty options. The staff were really friendly too. (myjewishlistings.com)
